5 Steps was certainly shot with colour in mind. It’s always fun working with LED lit scenes, and this film was no exception. The idea here was to create a high contrast piece, which, despite the saturation, never distracted from the story. The entire film is very heavily focused on the performance of the lead actor, so the grading was often about shaping the scene around him.
