The Great American Lowrider Tradition
Project BRIEF
Starting off as a 3-hour feature film and soon to be adapted into a mini-series, this documentary acts as the definitive history of racism and cultural discrimination amount Mexican-American lowriders from the 1940s to the modern day.
Shot remotely in LA, California, this remote grade was less about the stylised graded and more about the subtle touches that bring the lowriders to life. This was not simply a commercial for gorgeous cars, it’s a plea for change and project-driven by 3 years of passion. Grading the cars was simply the icing on the cake.

Working with Lee in the UK was as simple as working with anyone in the US. He was professional and creative and made the remote workflow seamless. From day one it was clear that Lee understood the vision for the film and how it needed to be graded. He brought passion and creativity to the project and offered great feedback during the whole editing process. I would recommend him to anyone in the world who needed a professional colourist.
